Broken Acrylic Bath Rim Edge Rebuilt and Colour Matched

About This Repair

Set against dark marble effect tiling, the front rim of this white bath had broken down badly along the sealant line. The edge had blistered, flaked and corroded back to a rough, pitted channel, the kind of deterioration that builds up where the seal fails and water sits against the acrylic for months. Once the original finish lifts, the exposed material soaks up moisture and the damage simply widens along the top edge.

Our technician stripped back the failed material, rebuilt the broken rim edge by hand, then reformed a crisp, straight line where the bath meets the tiling. The handle area was protected throughout, and the surface was colour matched to the bright white of the bath and polished to a hard, even gloss. The after image shows a sharp, factory like edge with the corrosion gone and a clean junction against the marble, all completed on site without removing a single tile.

This is a job that defeats most bath repair kits. A small tube of filler cannot rebuild a long, corroded edge convincingly, so the colour patches show, the line wanders and water finds its way back behind the repair. Magicman technicians are fully trained, draw on more than three decades of experience since 1993 and use proprietary materials chosen for lasting adhesion in a wet environment. Where a DIY approach to a chipped bath might just about hide a tiny mark, restoring a full broken edge to a straight, watertight finish is a professional task.
