Broken Ceramic Basin Bowl Restored in Situ

Something heavy had landed in this white ceramic basin and shattered the bowl from the inside. Two large shards sat loose against the waste, and a long stretch of the front rim had broken away completely, leaving jagged edges and a hollow where the lip should curve over the pedestal. With a dust sheet laid out beneath it, this was clearly a basin the owner hoped to save rather than scrap, and a broken ceramic sink repair was exactly the right call.

Damage on this scale looks terminal, but it does not have to be. A cracked sink repair kit from the shop is no match for a smashed rim, since piecing structural breaks back by hand is precise work, and a botched DIY attempt tends to leave a lumpy, mismatched line that cracks free again before long. Our fully trained technician approached it as a proper rebuild, with over 30 years of surface repair experience since 1993 to draw on. The sound fragments were reset, the missing rim was reformed with Magicman proprietary materials, and the restored contour was refinished, colour matched and polished into the original glaze.

The after photograph shows a crisp, complete basin, the rim smooth and unbroken and the bowl flawless beneath the chrome tap. Nothing in the finished surface hints at the destruction it began with. Every bit of it was carried out in place, in a single visit.
