Burn Mark on White Basin Repaired Seamlessly
About This Repair
Just beside the plughole of this white ceramic basin sat an ugly black scorch, a small but glaring blemish melted into the glaze. Something hot, most likely a cigarette or a heated styling tool, had been rested on the surface long enough to char and sink into the finish, leaving a dark, pitted mark in the worst possible spot, dead centre of the bowl. It is a classic ceramic wash basin repair, the sort of cosmetic damage that quietly ruins an otherwise sound basin.
A burn cannot be cleaned or scrubbed away, and lifting out a fitted basin to replace it is messy and dear. Reaching for a ceramic sink repair kit rarely ends well either, because matching the depth and mirror gloss of fired glaze with a tube of filler tends to leave a dull, sunken patch that draws the eye more than the burn did. Our fully trained technician handled it as a precise glaze rebuild instead, with over 30 years of surface repair experience since 1993 behind the work. The charred material was removed, the damaged glaze reformed with Magicman proprietary materials, then colour matched and polished flush with the surrounding white.
The after image shows clean, continuous white where the scorch used to be, no shadow, no dip and no trace of the burn. Done in situ in one visit, the bathroom was barely touched.
