Black Marble Island Worktop Scratch & Etch Restoration

This dramatic black marble island had lost the deep mirror finish it was installed for. Across the polished slab a dense web of fine scratches and dull etch marks had built up, the kind that catch every shaft of daylight and turn a luxury surface into something that looks permanently smeared. Marble is soft and porous, so years of plates being slid across it, acidic spills sitting too long and abrasive cleaning had slowly worn through the polish and etched into the stone itself.
