Broken Pedestal Basin Rebuilt After Impact Damage

A heavy knock to the right hand side of this white Roca pedestal basin had punched a large section clean out of the bowl, right beside the taps. What remained was a gaping, ragged opening that exposed the hollow inner body of the basin, the kind of impact damage most people assume means an immediate rip out. With dust sheets already down and the chrome taps still plumbed in, it was a working bathroom that needed a wash basin crack repair fast, not a refit.

We treated the basin as a structural rebuild rather than a write off. A shop bought ceramic sink repair kit is tempting here, but filling a hole this size by hand almost never holds its shape, and a weak or off colour DIY patch usually breaks away again and ends up costing more than calling someone in the first place. Our fully trained technician, drawing on more than 30 years of surface repair experience since 1993, reformed the missing ceramic with Magicman proprietary materials, rebuilding the true contour of the bowl beside the tap landing. The new section was then refinished, colour matched and polished into the surrounding gloss, all in a single visit with the plumbing and tiling left undisturbed.

In the after photograph the bowl is whole again, the opening gone and the rebuilt edge flowing smoothly into the original white, with the magicman aftercare card propped where the hole used to be.
