Smashed Caravan GRP Corner Panel Rebuilt On Site
About This Repair
This caravan GRP corner panel repair rebuilt a badly smashed section on site, saving the owner from a full panel order and respray bill. The white fibreglass corner at the base of the caravan had shattered, leaving jagged broken edges and a gaping hole where chunks of the moulded panel were missing entirely. The grey body section above sat sound, but the lower corner was wrecked.
Damage on this scale points to a heavy impact, most likely reversing or clipping the corner against a solid object, which is enough to punch straight through thin GRP and crack it back in spreading splinters. Left open, the exposed laminate lets in water and the rot quietly works its way along the panel.
Our technician cut back to sound material, rebuilt the missing corner with reinforced fibreglass, then shaped, faired and resprayed the area to recreate the original curve and white finish. The after image shows a smooth, continuous corner with the body line flowing cleanly to the floor, no hole and no patch in sight.
Sourcing and fitting a replacement caravan panel is slow and expensive, and a glued in repair section almost always leaves a visible seam. Rebuilding structural GRP and matching the spray is exactly the kind of work Magicman has done on touring caravans since 1993, with fully trained technicians and proprietary materials. For damage like this, share a few photos and request an online estimate or look over our panel and external repair service.
