Motorhome Table Hole and Chip Repaired In Situ

This motorhome table top repair sorted a damaged worktop in place, with no need to unbolt and post away the whole table. The light wood effect laminate top had a punched through hole near the rounded edge, the dark substrate showing through a ragged opening that the owner had taped around to stop it spreading. A couple of fine chips and a short scuff marked the surface nearby.

Damage like this is easily done in a motorhome, where a heavy object dropped on the corner, or a knock during loading and travel, can crack straight through a thin laminate top. Once the surface is breached the chipboard core is exposed, and every spill or wipe down works its way in and swells the board.

Working in situ, our technician rebuilt the hole, levelled the surface and recreated the wood grain pattern across the repair, then sealed and matched the sheen of the surrounding laminate. The after image shows a continuous, smooth table top with the grain flowing naturally and no sign of the break.
