Heat Scorch on Dark Slate Effect Worktop Repaired
About This Repair
A hot pan set straight down on this dark slate effect worktop left a nasty reminder of the moment. Where the base of the pan made contact the surface had blistered and discoloured into a pale, crusty scorch, the heat having bubbled and bleached the decorative layer and roughened it to the touch. The before image shows the bloom of damage near the wall, a ghostly square halo with crystalline pitting that stands out sharply against the smooth charcoal grey of the rest of the top.
Our burnt kitchen worktop repair worked the damage back out of the surface in place. The technician removed the blistered, friable material, rebuilt the level and then recoloured the area to match the subtle textured slate effect, reinstating the soft grey movement and matt finish. The after photograph shows an even, continuous dark slate top with the scorched halo gone entirely and the surface reading cool and uniform once more, no sign that a pan ever sat there.
Heat damage is one of the trickiest finishes to put right, because the burn changes both colour and texture and a clumsy patch simply swaps one eyesore for another. Tutorials gloss over how hard that match is. Magicman repairs burns as routine professional work, backed by more than thirty years since 1993, fully trained technicians and proprietary colour and texture matching materials.
