Magicman’s Ongoing Commitment to Sustainability: An Update on Our Tree 4 Travel Initiative
At Magicman, sustainability has never been an afterthought – it has been at the heart of our business model for over 30 years. Repair over replacement has always been our guiding principle, saving customers money, reducing waste, and minimising the environmental impact of transporting heavy goods around the world. Long before “sustainable” became a buzzword, we were helping to divert tonnes of waste from landfill and extend the lifespan of valuable assets. Today, we are proud to share an update on our ongoing efforts to further reduce our carbon footprint, including the latest milestones in our partnership with Tree 4 Travel.
Tree 4 Travel: Planting for a Better Future
Our partnership with Tree 4 Travel helps us offset the carbon emissions produced by our essential travel logistics. For every job our technicians undertake, carbon is inevitably created – whether through travel, materials, or logistics. By planting trees, we ensure that this impact is balanced with long-term environmental benefits. To date, we are delighted to confirm that we have planted over 8,000 trees and compensated for 1,398 tonnes of CO₂. Each tree planted contributes to global reforestation projects, creating habitats for wildlife, improving biodiversity, and directly capturing carbon from the atmosphere.
Electric Vehicles and Cleaner Travel
In addition to offsetting, we are actively working to reduce emissions at source. We have introduced a small fleet of electric vehicles for our technicians to use in London and the surrounding areas. These vehicles allow us to travel between jobs with zero tailpipe emissions, reducing pollution in one of the busiest urban areas in the UK. As charging infrastructure improves nationwide, we aim to expand this fleet, further aligning our day-to-day operations with our sustainability goals.
Sustainability Built Into Our Business Model

By repairing instead of replacing, we prevent perfectly serviceable materials and items from being scrapped. This approach significantly reduces landfill waste, lowers the demand for raw materials, and prevents emissions associated with manufacturing, shipping, and the installation of replacements.
To put this into context, the construction industry alone is responsible for around 37% of global CO₂ emissions. A significant part of this footprint comes from the production and transport of building materials. The marine industry also faces unique environmental challenges, from reducing emissions to managing waste. By carrying out on-board repairs, our teams help marine clients significantly cut their carbon footprint, reduce waste at sea, and operate more sustainably.

Data centres worldwide are estimated to use around 1–1.5% of global electricity, and this figure continues to rise. At Magicman, we take this seriously. Our website is optimised to run efficiently, following best practices to reduce unnecessary server load and energy consumption. By keeping our digital footprint as light as possible, we ensure that our sustainability principles extend into every aspect of the business.
