Impact-Cracked Acrylic Bath Repaired & Refinished

A heavy knock to the floor of this acrylic bath had left a classic star fracture, a dark central point where something hard struck the surface, with cracks radiating outwards in several directions. Damage like this almost always comes from impact, a dropped bottle, a tool or a falling fitting, which punches through the thin gel coat and splinters the acrylic beneath. Once water finds those radiating lines, the crack spreads and the panel begins to flex around the weakened spot.

To repair this cracked bath, our technician first stabilised the impact point, filled and bonded the splintered acrylic, then rebuilt the surface across the whole damaged zone. The radiating cracks were drawn back together and sealed before the area was refinished in matching white and polished to the original gloss. As the after photograph shows, the fracture has gone completely and the base reads as one smooth, sound surface again.
