Faded Curved Marine Cabinet Re-Coloured On Board
About This Repair
Aboard a vessel, the curved cabinet in this cabin had faded to a shadow of its former self. The bowed drawer fronts looked dry and washed out, the warm original tone bleached patchy across the timber and the lacquer no longer doing its job. Held against the fresh colour swatches in the before photo, the difference was stark. Tired marine joinery like this let down an otherwise smart interior, and a faded marine cabinet drawer front recolour was the quickest way to put it right.
Refinishing curved joinery on land would have meant removal, transport and days out of service, no small thing on a working boat. Our technicians avoided every bit of that with a repair carried out in situ. Working the contoured fronts by hand and reaching for Magicman proprietary materials, they brought an even, rich colour back across the drawers and sealed the timber under a durable, hard wearing finish, all inside a single visit.
The after image shows the cabinet returned to a deep, glowing wood tone with a consistent sheen running across every panel. The colour is uniform once more and the unit looks at home in its surroundings again.
